Each design we create is as unique as the client it represents. We get you involved in the design process, with face-to-face meetings where possible, to ensure you will be pleased with the finished product. We can start from scratch or work from an existing logo or design.

However, it's not just about the design - we will provide you with a complete website solution including domain name registration, hosting and email as well as website maintenance (see below for further details).

additional features

We can provide various interactive features for websites such as drop-down menus, embedded video files, dynamic photo galleries, visitor forums and emailed feedback forms. Such features involve additional programming and in some cases put a greater load on the server. They are therefore quoted individually, save that one emailed feedback form per site is automatically included in the basic design fee.

Our hosting package includes for up to 12 minor updates to your website per year - see the Pricing page for further details. However some clients may need to change the content of their websites more frequently than this or at very short notice (e.g. to add news items or change prices). In such cases we can provide a content management system (CMS) to allow clients to update the site themselves via a simple web interface. Such systems involve more complicated set up and a greater load on the server and are therefore quoted individually.

graphics

We can provide a wide range of graphic design services needed to produce professional looking websites.

Basic editing (e.g. re-sizing or cropping) of logos and images which you provide in electronic format is included in the design fee. If you do not have digital copies of logos or images we can reconstruct logos and/or scan hard copies if they are of sufficient quality. This will involve an additional charge agreed in advance.

If required we can also produce custom made graphics such as logos, banners and sketch maps and perform more sophisticated photo-editing such as changing backgrounds or correcting hue and brightness levels. This work is quoted individually.

content

Most of our clients provide the text content for their webpages. If requested, we can proof-read and suggest amendments to your text, or draft the content ourselves based on your instructions. We would charge an additional fee for this service, however, agreed in advance.

domain names

Having your own domain name (eg: www.yourbusiness.co.uk) is part of giving your website a professional look. Importantly, it is also memorable to customers making it easier for them to return to your website or pass on the address by word of mouth. Better still, it gives you the benefit of a personalised email address (eg: enquiries@yourbusiness.co.uk), which can be set up to forward all received email to your existing email address.

We can discuss with you which domains are available and register an appropriate one on your behalf.

Search Engine Optimisation

We make use of techniques to promote your site whilst staying within search engine guidelines. Some web designers may promise to put you on the first page of a Google search. These results can be acheived by posting hundreds of links to your site on random forums and guestbooks across the web. Such practices can yield impressive results in the short term, but will fail when the offending forum posts are deleted. In some cases, these websites have been removed from Google altogether.

The techniques search engines use to index sites vary over time so there can be no guarantee that any site will be ranked highly or even listed. However, all search engines aim to provide their users with relevant, useful websites. Therefore we aim to make the websites create provide clear, accessible and relevant information.
